Tips to Find a Little Relief from Hemorrhoids
By eating fiber rich foods, ample amount of exercise and sufficient fluid intake, you will be less likely to have constipation. Also, review your medications and supplements as some medications and supplements have a hardening effect on stools. These include heart medications, antidepressants, anti-Parkinson’s drugs, antacids, tranquilizers, and iron and calcium supplements.
If you already have hemorrhoids, you can do the following to alleviate it:
- Apply an ice pack, cold compress or a cold witch hazel cream on the hemorrhoids. This reduces swelling and the soreness of the hemorrhoids.
- Always try and keep your feet elevated especially when sleeping.
- Avoid sitting on hard surfaces. Instead, you can carry with you a fluffy pillow to sit on.
