Tips on Jobs for Teens
I think it’s a good idea to discuss with your teen, what they should do with their money, when they get their first paycheck from their first job as a teen. I think they should be able to spend the money as they please, but it’s also a great idea to convince them to save some as well. The sooner they learn this lesson, then the better off they should be in the future when it comes to managing their money. Some teenagers will want to spend all the money on themselves and not save any at all, but this is probably not the best thing for them to do.
In addition, another issue that may come up about jobs for teens is the location of the job and also the type of job that the teen is thinking about taking. If they happen to find a job at a grocery store that stays open all night, then this might be a concern. You probably do not want your teen getting out at 2:00am in the morning every night. So, you may have to convince your teen that before they take a job, you both should discuss what type of hours they will be working. If for some reason your teen is unable to find a job, then maybe they can consider going online and trying to find an online job where they can work from home.
